Muhammad Kevin Setio Haryanto

Kevin is a disputes lawyer with a strategic and results-oriented approach to advancing clients’ interests.


He has an exposure in a range of dispute and litigation matters, especially in constitutional, administrative, and criminal cases.


Kevin completed his Bachelor of Law at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada, where he was actively involved in campus organizations and contributed to academic work as a researcher at the Center for Democracy, Constitution, and Human Rights (Pusat Kajian Demokrasi, Konstitusi, dan Hak Asasi Manusia/Pandekha).


As part of his professional legal training, Kevin has completed the Advocate Professional Education Program (PKPA) organized by the Indonesian Advocates Association (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia).


Outside his work as a lawyer, Kevin is a founder of Law, Ethics, and Digital (LEAD) Institute, where he explores his deep interest in how technological developments may shape the future of law and legal practice.


Some notable cases handled by Kevin are as follows:

  1. Assisting an individual subject to extradition proceedings in pretrial proceedings examining the legality of arrest warrants and suspect designation; 
  2. Assisting the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in an administrative law dispute concerning a dean selection at a leading Indonesian university;
  3. Submitting a judicial review petition to the Constitutional Court of the MD3 Law to limit the authority of the House of Representatives to dismiss state officials;
  4. Submitting a judicial review petition to the Supreme Court of the 2025 Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives to limit the authority of the House of Representatives to dismiss state officials;
  5. Submitting a judicial review petition to the Constitutional Court of the Law on the Indonesian National Armed Forces to limit the role of the military in the civilian sphere.


With fellow academics from the university and several civil society organizations, Kevin engaged in advocacy work, such as:

  1. Submitting an Amicus Curiae to the Jakarta Administrative Court in relation to a lawsuit challenging the statement made by Fadli Zon denying the occurrence of mass rapes during the May 1998 tragedy;
  2. Submitting an Amicus Curiae to the Jakarta High Administrative Court and the Supreme Court in relation to a lawsuit over the conferment of an Honorary TNI General rank on Prabowo Subianto;
