Chera Hawanti

Chera joined LSM Law Firm in September 2026. She graduated from the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia, in January 2026. She was recognized as an Outstanding Student in Non-Academic Fields in 2025. Her undergraduate thesis examined the regulatory framework for below-threshold merger review as a preventive measure against killer acquisitions in Indonesia, reflecting her strong interest in competition law and her legal research and analytical skills. 


Chera has gained experience across various legal and regulatory matters, particularly in regulatory drafting, corporate matters, business competition, and legal research. Her experience includes conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing legal and regulatory documents, reviewing corporate documents and agreements, assisting with corporate transactions and regulatory compliance, and supporting legal proceedings. She has also gained exposure to various areas of law, including economic law, business competition law, corporate law, and regulatory law.


Chera approaches each matter with a focus on understanding clients’ objectives and concerns, while maintaining sound legal principles and rigorous legal analysis.

Some notable matters that Chera has assisted are:


  1. Assisting in legal research concerning alleged cartel activity involving peer-to-peer lending fintech companies in proceedings before the Indonesian Competition Commission (KPPU);
  2. Assisting in legal research concerning the regulatory treatment of electric vehicle incentives and their implications for the enforcement of business competition law in Indonesia; and
  3. Assisting in the preparation of evidence and legal documents for corporate litigation matters regarding claim life insurance.
